Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on North Texas Street; Nadhir Ghuzi Arrested
FAIRFIELD, CA (October 27, 2021) – Authorities arrested Nadhir Ghuzi following a bicycle hit-and-run crash on North Texas Street that killed one person.
The accident took place around 7:00 p.m., October 19, on North Texas Street near Wisconsin Street.
According to CHP, they received reports of a collision between a Nissan SUV and a bicycle. Officers said the bicyclist was riding in the area when a SUV struck him.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
At this time, authorities withheld his identity pending notification of kin.
Meanwhile, witnesses said the suspect driver did not render any aid to the victim, and fled the scene.
Eventually, police tracked down the vehicle and identified the driver via surveillance videos, and arrested Ghuzi on suspicion of multiple charges, including homicide and DUI.
Furthermore, Fairfield police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
