Deadly Scooter Accident on Ohio Avenue in Long Beach; Humberto Chavez Involved
LONG BEACH, CA (August 3, 2021) – Saturday morning on July 17, Humberto Chavez fatally struck a man riding a scooter on 7th Street.
The deadly crash took place around 3:30 a.m., in the area of 7th Street and Ohio Avenue, as stated by the report.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, Humberto Mendez Chavez was driving a 2010 Ford Mustang heading west when he suddenly stuck the victim riding a VEO Electric Scooter.
As per the Police, Chavez remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Although it was unclear at the time of this report whether Chavez had been cited or detained. However, offices say Humberto Chavez was driving with an expired driver’s license.
Paramedics rushed the 32-year-old male victim to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Meanwhile, the crash is still being investigated.
