It’s time for taxes and spring picnics. We’ve got five cocktails to help take the edge off this last dizzying year and the science behind it all.
To help celebrate the launch of the Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic ready-to-drink cocktail, the company has enlisted the help of one famous scientist and gin lover – Bill Nye, the Science Guy. In a series of wonderfully instructive and educational videos (click above), the popular mechanical engineer delves into the science behind the perfect formula of the juniper and botanical based spirit and tonic. The cocktail-to-go also comes in a light version.
CANTINA, a line of ready-to-drink, better-for-you tequila soda canned cocktails come in Ranch Water, Grapefruit Paloma and Watermelon Margarita flavors. Each 12 oz. can is low-carb, 99 calories, contains 0 sugar and is made with all-natural flavors. Just in time for the warmer months, the refreshing and thirst quenching flavors are crafted with premium blue weber agave in the heart of Tequila, in Jalisco Mexico.
If you love the Ketel One botanica line of vodkas in grapefruit and rose, cucumber mint and peach and orange blossom flavors, they’re now available as canned spritzes. The low calorie, low ABV (3.6 percent) ready-to-drink cocktails are zero-carb, have no added sugars, no artificial flavors or sweeteners and are made with 100 percent GMO grain, all at 73 calories per serving.
Moscow Mule brand Merican Mule’s newest seasonal canned cocktail is the Fire Mule. Sweet and spicy, the Fire Mule is a combination of bourbon whiskey, ginger beer and natural cinnamon, for a well-balanced sip with a kick. Best enjoyed cold and straight from the copper can or a copper mug for the full Mule experience (#CopperMugOptional), the cocktail is malt-free and features zero artificial flavorings. The new cinnamon mule joins a lineup of five canned cocktails including the flagship Moscow Mule (vodka), Mexican Mule (tequila), Tropical Mule (rum), Southern Mule (bourbon) and seasonal Pumpkin Spice Mule (vodka).
Estrella Jalisco, the 100-year-old Mexican brewer, has introduced a flavorful twist on the classic Michelada. The new Tropical Chamoy Michelada is the latest addition to the brand’s portfolio featuring a 3.5% ABV and a blend of clamato, chamoy and pineapple. The traditional lager is a fruity spin on the classic beer cocktail just in time for spring picnics and tax season. The brand is also enlisting help from Mexican singer, songwriter and longtime chamoy enthusiast Sofia Reyes to rally fans 21+ to share their best definition of chamoy by April 15 for a chance to win Estrella Jalisco swag and a year supply of Tropical Chamoy Micheladas. Additional details will be found on @EstrellaJalisco’s social channels.
