Butte County Fatal Accident; Victims Identified
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (July 9, 2021) – Authorities identified Alfonso Madera-Gomez and Kristopher Wilson as the victims of a crash on SR-70 last Monday.
CHP Officers responded to the collision around 3:00 a.m. on State Route-70, east of the West Branch Bridge.
Upon arrival, officers located Alfonso Madera-Gomez (21) and Kristopher Wilson (27) alive but unresponsive.
Subsequently, authorities arrested Alfonso Madera-Gomez as the suspect for the collision.
Afterwards, CAL FIRE and Butte EMS arrived and performed life-saving measures to both patients.
Unfortunately, Kristopher Wilson succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts made by paramedics.
Meanwhile, medical personnel airlifted Alfonso Madera-Gomez to Enloe Medical Center in critical condition. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries as well.
The Butte County Officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
