High-Speed Crash on Harrison Road Left One Dead

SALINAS, CA (December 2, 2021) –One person died after speeding past an officer, resulting in a crash on Harrison Road Monday morning.

Salinas Police said one of their officers was enforcing traffic at Main Street and Massa Street at around 10 a.m.

Afterwards, a black Lexus SUV going 75 mph tried to speed past the officer.

Consequently, the officer attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle.

Furthermore, the suspect attempted to pass a white Dodge Dakota and make a left turn into Sala Road.

Eventually, the SUV ended up hitting the Dodge and crashing into an unoccupied Toyota mini van parked on the roadside.

Due to the impact of the crash, the victim died on the scene. Meanwhile, the two adults in the Dodge were not injured.
