26-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Lewis Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (October 12, 2021) – Wednesday morning, Jaizell Mabin, 26, was killed in a pedestrian crash on Pacific Coast Highway.
The accident took place around 5:50 a.m., at Pacific Coast Highway and Lewis Avenue, as per police reports.
According to the authorities, Mabin was crossing southbound outside of a marked crosswalk when suddenly he was hit by an eastbound 2009 Honda Pilot. The car was driven by 24-year-old resident.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained in the crash, Mabin was pronounced dead. In addition, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the officers.
Moreover, impairment was not suspected to be a factor in the collision. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
