Woman Dies in Fatal Collision near Air Expressway in Adelanto
ADELANTO, CA (September 24, 2021) – Saturday night, April Lyon was killed and Ysidro Pinon was hurt in a crash on Adelanto Road.
The collision occurred around 5:57 p.m., at the intersection of Adelanto Road and Air Expressway.
According to investigators, 41-year-old Lyon was driving a tan 1999 Chevy Tahoe with her husband in the passenger seat and her 6-year-old son in the back seat.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Ysidro Pinon was traveling north on Adelanto Road in a silver 2011 Ford Fusion when he failed to stop for a red light.
As a result, Pinon broadsided Lyon’s car on the driver side causing Lyon’s vehicle to roll over multiple times.
Due to the extent of her condition, first responders pronounced Lyon dead at the scene. Meanwhile, they airlifted her husband and son to Loma Linda University Hospital with major injuries.
Moreover, Pinon refused to be medically transported despite receiving moderate injuries from the collision.
At this time, Adelanto Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
