Julian Multi-Car Pileup Left One Fatality
JULIAN, CA (August 12, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash in SR-79 eastern San Diego County left a 33-year-old motorcyclist dead on Friday.
According to the CHP, a northbound 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide veered into the southbound lane of the freeway for unknown reasons.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist crossed into the path of an oncoming 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, causing a head-on collision.
Tragically, the deadly crash claimed the life of the motorcyclist.
Afterwards, an unoccupied two-wheeler slid across the roadway and collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by a 62-year-old female from Arizona.
At the same time, a northbound 2016 Harley-Davidson struck scattered debris in the freeway near the wreckage.
The crash of the motorcycle sent the 57-year- old Oceanside man onto the pavement.
Eventually, medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the Volkswagen driver to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
Everyone else involved in the incident remained unharmed, according to CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow.
The multi-vehicle crash on SR-79 continues to be under investigation by the Julian Authorities.
