22-Year-Old Firefighter Severely Hurt in Ventura Accident
VENTURA, CA (July 27, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, July 15, 22-year-old Zachary Gregson, sustained severe injuries in a motorcycle crash.
The crash took place around 2:28 p.m., along the Pacific Coast Highway between Solimar Beach and Emma Wood State Beach.
According to reports, Gregson was driving a Harley Davidson south on PCH when a 19-year-old woman driving a southbound Chevrolet Blazer turned left into a beach parking lot, directly into Gregson’s path.
The SUV struck Gregson, throwing him into a parked car on the shoulder of the highway. Paramedics arrived on scene and transported him to Ventura County Medical Center.
According to a fundraiser set up on his behalf, he was taken to Ventura County Medical Center with many fractures and other injuries that required surgeons to amputate his left leg below the knee.
Zachary Gregson has had multiple issues throughout his recuperation, including a stroke.
Mike Gregson, a retired Oxnard police officer, and Erica Gregson, a fire department nurse, are Gregson’s parents, according to the GoFundMe.
At this time, no further information has been released.
