LOS ANGELES, CA (July 6, 2021) – Thursday night, 72-year-old Ora Burdette was killed in a pedestrian accident on South Figueroa Street.

The crash happened around 9:20 p.m., on the 11220 block of South Figueroa Street near 112th Street. Officers arrived shortly after.

Investigators say Burdette was crossing the street in a wheelchair when she was struck by a vehicle. Following the crash, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Due to the impact of the collision, the elderly pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Later, the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 72-year-old Ora Burdette.

At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.
