Fatal Crash in Hanford Leaves Kingsburg Woman Dead
HANFORD, CA (July 20, 2021) – A fatal crash in Hanford claimed the life of a woman and injured Esteban Barreto on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m., in the area of 6th and Excelsior Avenue. Dispatchers arrived in the area shortly after.
According to reports, a 2013 Toyota Camry was traveling on the road when a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup-truck ran a stop sign. As a result, the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Due to the impact of the collision, responding emergency personnel declared the female passenger dead at the scene. She was only described as a 29-year-old woman from Kingsburg.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Esteban Barreto of Kingsburg sustained critical injuries. Paramedics rushed him to San Jose Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
Medics say Barreto currently remains on a ventilator in the ICU. His family set up a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses during this difficult time.
At this time, Hanford officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
