Fatal Head-on Collision Leaves Woman Killed and Another Seriously Injured
MODESTO, CA (June 22, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, 47-year-old Lamar Garth was seriously injured after a head-on collision on Highway 132.
Officers first responded to the incident around 3:29 p.m., on Gates Road near the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge.
A northbound 2006 Chrysler sedan veered to the right and struck a metal guardrail. Although, the events leading up remain unclear.
Due to the impact of the crash, the sedan was sent directly into the path of a southbound 2005 Ford SUV, where they collided head-on. Per reports, the Ford overturned to its right side.
Shortly after, paramedics took the 46-year-old Patterson woman to Doctors Medical Center. There, she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, two passengers inside the Ford suffered from minor injuries. The Chrysler driver, 47-year-old Lamar Garth, sustained major injuries.
At this time, police are still investigating the circumstances of the fatal head-on collision.
