FLYJETS Makes Private Jet Travel More Affordable by Cutting Sky-High Prices

True to the adage that necessity is the mother of invention, a welcome change is occurring in the sector of private jet travel. Flying private has long been viewed as an unattainable luxury for most travelers. However, restrictions and, at times, outright bans on many commercial flights worldwide during the pandemic resulted in a higher demand for private flights; private aviation accounted for 19% of air travel this year compared to only 12% last year. Still, high prices have been a major deterrent to continued growth in the industry. FLYJETS has brought a welcome change to private aviation by introducing a number of mechanisms that simultaneously enable significant cost savings and increased utilization rates.

A technology-powered aviation marketplace, FLYJETS connects passengers with charter jets – at significantly discounted rates when possible. Lower prices — 40% to even half the regular private jet rates— are possible as a function of optimizing flights and eliminating so-called “empty legs.” Private jets are normally chartered for round trips, meaning that half of the time they are in the air, they fly empty – a massive waste of time and resources. Finding a fare for the empty leg is the prerequisite for a lower overall flight price; FLYJETS found a way to do it.

For instance, a charter flight on a very light jet, such as an Embraer Phenom 100, from Los Angeles to San Francisco may cost approximately $8,500.00 to $9,000.00 outright.  If FLYJETS were to source an empty-leg trip, or “charter flight,” as FLYJETS calls “empties,” the cost of that trip could be significantly lower, around the price point of $5,300.00 per flyer customer on each of the trip legs, or even less on last-minute trips, depending on dates and aircraft routing. Similarly, a trip on a super-midsize aircraft from Los Angeles to New York, or New York to Los Angeles, may be reduced by as much as 50% percent of the outright price per customer if both legs of the trip are purchased.

“We are working first and foremost to enable the best economics for our customers,” said FLYJETS Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jessica Fisher. “Our goal is to deliver not only full price transparency, but the benefit of ‘discounted’ charter flight, or ‘empty leg,’ opportunities as they become available.”

Along with growing the number of private flyers through the adoption of the FLYJETS system, the company will also provide a frequent flyer program. It is largely targeted towards earning and redeeming points to use towards future charter flights. Parallel with this, FLYJETS encourages passengers to be environmentally conscious by offering incentives via its FLYGreen Energy Initiative. The company keeps passengers informed of their flight’s emissions rate and the options to help reduce emissions by purchasing carbon offsets or flying with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), when available.

By making the luxury of private flying more democratic and affordable, FLYJETS is revolutionizing the consumer experience. To learn more about FLYJETS and sign up for a free membership, visit the company’s website.
