After a weekend of anti-ICE protests at the Long Beach Convention Center, the building was found vandalized with graffiti and fake blood.
Long Beach Police Department responded to a 6:30 a.m. call on Monday, where they found the convention center’s steps, walls and walkways covered in fake blood and graffiti with phrases such as, “There’s blood on your hands,” “This is for our children,” and “Fuck Biden.”
The weekend protests featured activist groups asking to end the “detention” of the unaccompanied immigrant children who were expected to be held at the convention center.

Investigators believe four individuals were responsible for the vandalism and the events took place around 3:45 a.m., Monday, according to the Long Beach Post.
Long Beach is one of two L.A. County cities who agreed to shelter unaccompanied immigrant children who were received at the U.S. and Mexico border and is scheduled to hold up to 1,000 children.
“These sibling pairs have been found alone and unaccompanied along the border. Our top priority must be family reunification,” Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said about the immigrant children. “These kids deserve our care, love, and support. We will work to ensure that every child is quickly reunited with family.”
Long Beach Convention Center, which will be detaining ~1,000 separated refugee kids this week, was tagged early this morning.

More than 45 activist groups, including the Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition and Occupy ICE L.A., put together a statement condemning the holding of immigrant children in Los Angeles County, saying, “We will continue to advocate for the abolition of detention centers as a part of the larger carceral system that harms all of us. We will continue to fight for the reunification of all immigrant families.”
Long Beach’s contract to hold the children will expire August 2.
