Three University of Southern California (USC) halls were briefly evacuated Thursday after receiving a bomb threat.
Grace Ford Salvatori Hall, Sample Hall and Wallis Annenberg Hall were evacuated from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., while LAPD and USC’s Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) searched the area that was eventually deemed of no threat.
LAPD deemed the areas safe by 5:01 and students were allowed to return to the areas.
“LAPD and DPS have determined the evacuated buildings are safe,” USC tweeted Thursday. “Grace Ford Salvatori Hall, Sample Hall and Wallis Annenberg Hall have been reopened. Normal business has resumed.”
An unrelated bomb threat occurred at L.A. Union Station Wednesday, which was also found to be of no threat, but an brief evacuation occurred while police searched the area.
“B/D (RED/PURPLE): No train service between Civic Center/Grand Park and Union Station due to police activity,” Metro Alerts tweeted out Wednesday morning 11:12 a.m. “Consider J Line (Silver) for alternate service.”
