57-Year-Old Man Dies; DUI Driver Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run on Road 236
PORTERVILLE, CA (September 27, 2021) – 57-year-old Louis Munoz lost his life after a tragic DUI hit-and-run crash last Wednesday on Road 236.
The collision happened around 2:30 a.m., September 22, on Road 236, south of Avenue 112.
According to the CHP, Dominic Casarez, 23, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Road 236 when he drifted into the left lane and collided with an incoming 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Responding crews transported the rider to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he died.
Authorities identified the deceased victim as 57-year-old Louis Munoz of Porterville.
Meanwhile, Casarez, who was discovered to be intoxicated at the time, fled the scene on foot after the collision.
Authorities later apprehended Casarez and charged him with second-degree murder, DUI and hit-and-run.
