JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and The Painted Peach, an art and design studio based in Venice, will host a “paint and sip” event on Thursday, July 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is inspired by the new immersive Van Gogh exhibition currently at the former Amoeba Records site and offers an opportunity to recreate the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter’s most famous work of art, The Starry Night, in abstract form.

The painting session will be led by the studio’s founding abstract artist and designer, Amanda Renata. For each class, she creates unique art inspired by her travels as well as her education in interior design and architecture.

The $100 ticket includes a glass of wine and an instructed, two-hour painting session outdoors at the hotel. All materials and a canvas will be provided for the event. Additionally, Van Gogh-themed cocktails will be available for purchase. For more information or to purchase tickets,  visit Eventbrite or call 213.765.8600.

IHOP will be offering 58-cent pancakes nationwide on Tuesday, July 13, to celebrate their 63rd anniversary. The 58-cent short stack special is a nod to their founding year of 1958 – when brothers Al and Jerry Lapin established the first IHOP in Toluca Lake after finding inspiration in the tropical tastes of coconut syrup and dreaming up the idea of a local restaurant centered around pancakes. The one-day-only offer will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
